[Bai Shiwengyun Zhongtang|Ink Hua Fusion of Song and Yuan Dynasties]
This scroll inherits the "mature and smooth brushwork" of Qinan, boasting a rich and powerful aura reminiscent of the vibrant lines of Xuan paper in "Lushan Gao." Its elegant and simple character structure evokes the elegant aesthetics of Huang Tingjian's "Songfeng Pavilion," creating a new realm of Ming dynasty aesthetics. The jade-like Xuan plate undergoes a secret process of seven sharpenings and eight dyeings, and the pine smoke blended with ochre alludes to the "coarse and subtle" principle of "Shitian Collection." The meticulous craftsmanship of this imitation is refined to the level of "refined study," with each stroke tempered by thirty years of tea and Zen meditation. Compared to ordinary calligraphy copies, this piece reveals a distinct connection between the brushwork of the Song and Yuan dynasties. Beyond a continuation of form and spirit, it is a connoisseur-level paper that blends the unrestrained elegance of literati with the refined elegance of gardens. It offers a glimpse into the true spirit of the Wu school, as exemplified by the inscriptions on "Night Sitting Picture."
