[Songxue Mountain and Water Center|The traces of the water in the silk jade soul]
This scroll embodies the essence of Zi'ang's "flying white and melting blue" technique. The winding peaks and ripples resemble Dong Yuan's Jiangnan powder-based silk scrolls, while the reeds on the shore, imbued with ink, fuse with the egg white of the Yuan Dynasty official kilns, creating a profound unity of calligraphy and painting. The mineral color, crafted through eight chisels and nine smelters, subtly evokes the Daoist principle of "ink concealing dragon veins" as expressed in Songxuezhai's Painting Theory. The meticulous imitation technique achieves the exacting standards of "heavenly and profound" (Tianhuang Pivot Level), with each stroke honed over thirty years in the Crystal Palace powder-based scrolls. Compared to the more common Yuan Dynasty landscapes, this work embodies the brushwork of the Song Dynasty's Jade Records. This masterpiece is more than a mere imitation of the misty peaks and misty mountains, but truly represents a truly authentic silk scroll, blending the lingering influences of Northern Song Dynasty painters Li and Guo with the glaze of Goryeo celadon. The world's finest collectors vie to inherit the Daoist essence of "Autumn Scenery of Quehua."
