[Viewing the Wonderful Appearance of Peng | A Replica of a Qing Dynasty Buddhist Rhyme]
This central hall embodies the exquisite charm of Ding's "gold line drawing" technique, seamlessly blending the brushwork of Tang Dynasty artist Wu Daozi with the vibrant colors of Tibetan thangkas. Specially selected imperial silk, treated with the ancient method of nine alums and eight dyes, creates a resplendent golden splendor reminiscent of Buddha's aura. The flowing sash alludes to the "nail head and rat tail" motif of the Arhats' Viewing the Buddha. This reproduction, reaching the "Qixiang Palace Study Level," captures the essence of Qianlong court art beyond ordinary Buddhist paintings. Beyond mere resemblance, it truly recreates a masterpiece of the fusion of Chinese and Tibetan art, a rare example of Guan Peng.
