[Four screens of calligraphy written in the palace | The soul of the temple with broken jade tendons and paper]
This hall embodies the essence of Master Shiyun's "Zanhua Style" calligraphy. Its dignified regular script resembles a blend of Ouyang Xiu and Yu Yu, yet its flowing lines are vibrant and vivid, inheriting the tradition of Songxuezhai while creating a distinct, clear and powerful style. Xuan paper undergoes the secret method of nine ridges and eight sharpenings, creating a lingering pine mist that evokes the "ink-piercing Longquan" of the "Palace Examination Strategy." The meticulous imitation technique achieves the exacting standards of "Cewen Zhengmai Level," with each stroke honed through three decades of refinement in the Imperial Academy. Compared to more conventional top-ranking scholar calligraphy, it embodies the spirit of the Guangxu and Jiachen periods. This is more than just a transfer of the formality of imperial examination calligraphy; it truly embodies a connoisseur-level work, blending the rigor of official script with the refined elegance of the literati. A rare contemporary work that inherits the aesthetic system of the "Longquan Temple Record."
