[Illusionary World in the Text|A Rare Reproduction of a Late Ming Dynasty Artwork]
This work embodies Wu's uniquely imaginative brushwork, seamlessly integrating the mysteries of Xiu Luohan and Taoist iconography. Specially selected fine silk from the Imperial Treasury, treated with a secret method of "ten alums and nine dyes," results in a vibrant, vibrant color reminiscent of the Milky Way. The intertwining folds of the garments allude to the profound "bent iron stroke" technique of the "Five Hundred Arhats" painting. This imitation, reaching the standard of a "Putian study," demonstrates the pinnacle of late Ming Dynasty transformationism, surpassing conventional Buddhist painting. Beyond mere resemblance, it recreates the fusion of religious art during the Wanli period, a rare example of the Wenzhong style.
