Wanhua Qingyun|Four Gentlemen Replica Treasures
These four screens capture the exquisite charm of Mei Jun's "interplay of drama and painting," seamlessly blending the essence of Wang Mian's ink plums and Zheng Banqiao's wind-blown bamboos. Specially crafted using the ancient technique of six-alum five-dyeing on Luowen Xuanjing, the ink is elegant, reminiscent of flowing sleeves. The boneless dotting and dyeing allude to the subtle "dancing sleeves" of "The Heavenly Girl Scattering Flowers." This reproduction reaches the standard of "Zhuiyuxuan Study Level," demonstrating the masterful brushwork of Peking Opera masters beyond the more common Four Gentlemen. Beyond mere resemblance, this work truly recreates a masterpiece from the collection of two renowned Republican literati and artists, a rare example of the Wanhua style of the time.
