[Valley of Dharma Essence | Replica of Zen Books]
This central hall calligraphy captures the spirit of Fu Weng's "rowing brushwork," each character blending the vigor of "The Buried Crane Epitaph" with the exquisite charm of Huaisu's cursive script. Specially crafted Shu paper, treated with the ancient method of seven soakings and five dryings, creates a lingering ink rhythm reminiscent of pine waves breaking through rock, while the long spears and large halberds allude to the "boat-like momentum" of Li Bai's "Recalling Old Travels." This imitation reaches the standard of "Jiangxi Study Level," revealing the essence of Northern Song Zen calligraphy beyond ordinary works. This work transcends mere resemblance to form, truly recreating the altruistic spirit of Yuanyou literati, a rare example of the authentic Huang school of calligraphy.
